Aaron Garsia (1785-1848) was a doctor in Kingston, Jamaica, where he fathered at least 19 children. In 1830 (when he was 45), Aaron married the 20-year-old Sarah Ann Melhado (1810-1888). Sarah bore him ten of his children.

The research on the Garsia side of the family has been done jointly with Angela and Joan Garcia who like my wife Joy are descended from Aaron Garsia.  Others have also contributed and will be mentioned where appropriate.

Adelaide Sarah: First of the children born to Aaron Garsia and his wife Sarah

Wilhelmina Sophia: Second of the children born to Aaron Garsia and his wife Sarah. She married James Waddell (the Waddell family is being researched by Gavin Waddell) and came to live in Edinburgh and other parts of the UK. Although Wilhelmina and James had five children this branch of the family died out with their grand daughter Ruth Blanche Salwey. To see what we know of Wilhelmina and her descendants click here.

Willoughy Marston: The third of the children and their first son born to Aaron Garsia and his wife Sarah. Click here to view what we know of him and his descendants. In 1884  he married Mina Frances Williams in London. On her mother’s side she was descended from the Hagart family which has been researched by Alan Gray. On her father’s side she was descended from the Addams Williams.
